Erik Cortina has a similar video competition, and if you complete the challenge using iron sights, he'll give you $5,000.

I think there's a new deal for the guy who does the best that day gets to shoot a 10 shot group and see how well it is for maybe another metal or something

You've watched most of the episodes. What brand of optic is most often used?

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

What kind of gun are you wanting to shoot?

I've been thinking about rebarreling my match shooting rifle.

I've got an idea, specially for this challenge.

We have one locally here near Crawford, Tx.
It’s called the vintage military shoot. Only military rifles open sights. I have completed with a K31 Swiss/ Garand/ and O3A3 Springfield. We shoot a non- conventional target for sure!
Here is the target. In honor of Billy Dixon. Target is half life size we shoot at 800 yds 15 shots total most hits wins. Oh and if you don’t know who Billy Dixon is… you ain’t a Texan.

It’s rare for someone to hit 15 out of 15 but it usually takes 12-13 to win

Hats off to those guys. I could not do that with irons.

I’ve been watching the past episodes. I’m amazed at how many individuals with suppressors are shooting with no covers on them to prevent mirage.

I did see someone shooting with one of my covers on. I think it was episode 19.

I can barely see the front post of my irons, much less a target that far, lol.

This is a really cool idea. Never seen this before.

My Tikka could earn a silver, as long as it's sunny enough to see splashes like in the video. Gold is a next level shot, and half moa at that distance is sporty. The half moa would be easier with a Bartlein or other high end barrel and a shooter with A+ wind reading.

I did clean all 4 TYL targets at 800 yards at the rifle challenge at JG's years ago. I remember biggest was 2 moa, smallest was 1/2 moa. Can't remember if the 2 in the middle were 1.5moa and 1moa or 1moa and 3/4moa. But 1 or 2 other folks cleaned it too - I wasn't alone. Maybe Judd?

Why, you have troubles hitting the 800y? peep bolt

I am not sure if that was me or not, pat07...I think I only shot the prs August hotter than hell match at Jason's and the rest of them I just spotted and scored to help him.

There was no 800 yard stage at a challenge and Judd just yelled at people

He's talking about the long range matches I ran in the summer.

It will very likely not be muddy in July.

No.

I was just saying why I used to have a summer match.

No more matches on my range.
