Hey - can anyone tell me what kind of wood this is? I'm not sure of this is oak or ash.

TIA -

The bark looks Post Oak or Cedar Elm to me. Hard to tell the leaves.

Cedar Elm has very small teardrop leaves.

Looks like most of it is oak

If possible get a clear and close picture of the bark.

Maybe pecan? Or Oak, or cedar elm.

Thanks all. J.G, I saw a small clump of dried leaves still on some twigs that look just like a google search. You got it, cedar elm, and I aint cooking with it.

I've got a buddy that sells firewood for a living. He calls cedar elm a piss elm, "cause it ain't worth a piss".

I won't cook with it, but it burns nice in the fireplace.

It is Neal Sperry's favorite tree. Hard wood that makes shade, and is very hearty through all the weather Texas can throw at it.
