Have 2 HEB's here and been in them maybe 3 times total. Walmart...hell no thank you! HEB seems fine other than too crowded for no more than I shop for, if I'm in Walmart there are 2 reasons, drunk or desperate for something! Only spend about $30-$50 every week and half so United works for me and is closer and easier for me. Mine is clean and has good meat counter and selection is fine. I do buy gas at HEB but every time I try Walmart/Murphy gas I have to change plugs on my old beater truck. I did notice the deli section of HEB is tempting and not good place to be if you shop hungry/drunk.
Brayden (Lazy L's Southern Comfort) you will be missed! You were more than a pet you were my reason to rise and return for many days! You were my rock! 12/26/03-10/25/13

Talk about crowded, place is jammed with folks pushing their carts 90 mph, check out line is like 50 people deep. Talk about situational awareness, you can very easily get run into by one of their shoppers if your eyes are not on a swivel.

Waiting on Sherman, we have wal marts packed, and Kroger and Albertsons ( Both smell like old socks) Tired of driving to the metroplex!!! But worth it Supposedly we’re getting one, but we’ll see. I expect with all this growth, we’ll be getting a lot of new stuff but would rather stay small. We are getting close to 40B dollars in investments over next few years and will be the next McKinney sooner rather than later. Coming home from work I now have to wait in the red light 1417/82 3-4 times to get through it, used to I didn’t even have to stop of possibly wait through one light with 1-2 other cars. Traffic is already starting to suck. I want to find some land up in OK and commute south to Sherman for work but Amanda isn’t wanting to drive an hour to work It’s not just happening in Sherman, it’s everywhere. Correct but it’s happening more so in Sherman. TI is building the biggest chips factory in the world in Sherman as we speak along with Globitech and their parent company Global Wafers building another huge chips factory as we speak. Plus there will be all kinds of suppliers and vendors that will move to locate near the two plants. Sherman is fixing to explode but the infrastructure will suffer. The Green New Deal will take care of the build out of roads and utilities to support the growth (yeah right).

The Interstate from Durant to Sherman is like high speed off-roading but you're right about the 82/1417 light. At least the 82/75 situation is slightly better. HEB or anything would be good to have here in Cooke County as we have ONE chain besides Walmart. Tom Thumb is getting rebuilt so we're about to have some issues.
Pass the gravy.

One or two trips and you'll go back to your regular So your saying the novelty of shopping at a HEB mega store with all kinds of eye and stomach candy will wear off when you have to empty your wallet at the cash register When I went to the new one off Preston Rd, in Plano it was huge, like the size of a Walmart supercenter for groceries and the prices were up there! First HEB I went to was in Lampasas many moons ago, right off the get go I was wishing for one like that close to the house, these new super stores are a little much and pricey.

One or two trips and you'll go back to your regular Lol, not how things work. I have a Kroger Marketplace across the street from the HEB, I find the vegatable to be better quality than HEB. I like somethings about HEB but find Kroger still better overall, and now much less crowds at Kroger vs HEB. I think the Kroger Marketplace was the first one built in South, They no longer carry furniture or have a jewlery store inside, but still sell clothing. Used to be when I moved to Frisco I was on the North End, I had to go to Plano for a Walmart store, now I am surrounded by a brand new Tom Thumb, new HEB and the Kroger MarketPlace they built around 2011, and a WalMart right down Preston Road.

Went to the one on Preston Road in Plano to check out pre-made appetizers and sausages, ended up with two full sacks of groceries. Marketing with taste samples worked for me, tried their store brand beef tamales and was sold, bought both Pork and Beef, they have a special which expires today Their Tamales are only $9.49 a dozen and have plenty of meat on the inside!! "Buy H-E-B Mi Tienda Refrigerated or Hot Tamales get FREE H-E-B Mi Tienda Beans, 17.6 oz., Pinto or Chorizo, or Rice, 15 oz." Sale ends today 2/04/2025 Had the tamales rice and beans for dinner Thursday night and lunch the next day, very good, yesterday (Monday) finished off that pack for lunch with eggs, oh man.

We’ve had the pork and the beef tamales and I prefer the pork. Very good, especially for the price.
