Im about to try a 72 hour fast. Ive got a sugar addiction, have to have ice cream or chocolate milk or somerhing after i eat. Im 46, 6'1". I spent years at 265lbs. Got aerious about dieting and dropped to 180 about 4 years ago. That was roo skinny, i got back up to 190 which is about perfect for me. The last year my weight has gone up and yo yo'd between 205-212lbs. Almost all of that in belly and man boobs. Ill tell my self at night and dueing the day im done with desserts and sugar, but after i eat my brain messes up and i have to eat it. Of course i also love fast food. Ive got stomach troubles (gastroparesis), arthritis in both hands, 3 level spinal fusion, HBP and couple of issues.

Ive never fasted before. The fast im wanting to do is 1 day just water, 2 days bone broth. Ive read up on fasting, im hoping it will help reduce inflammation, help with sugar cravings, and kind of do a digestive reset. Im really not sure how it will go but im gonna try it out anyways.

Day 1 wasnt too bad. Didnt really start to get hungry until around 7pm. Havent had anything but water aince 10pm last night. I was dumb and didnt buy my bone broth in advance, so had to make a trip to walmart, which is why i got hungry being arwound all the food.

Me too. I've been on the "shot" for a year and I still crave sugar and have not been able to stop using it completely. There is just NO substitute for it. I use raw sugar in my coffee, 2 cups of coffee a day and a teaspoon on my oatmeal. The raw sugar is not really better than white cane sugar, but I like the brown sugar flavor.

I do 3 day fasts every 3 months. Love it. Plan on a 5 day in June.

Hey Coach - do you drink green tea regularly or only when fasting ?

I drink it every day and kombucha once a week. Kombucha can be an acquired taste but it's great for gut health.

I'm starting a 3 day fast now. Just ate my last meal. Make sure it's heavy in protein and good fat. Then when you break the fast start slow. I usually drink bone broth we make from deer bones. This is what I just ate and will break the fast Friday at 6pm

What does the 72 hour fast accomplish? Serious question

Lots of research but in short it detoxifies your body, burns fat, helps in lowering bad cholesterol, and other great benefits. But you have to do them multiple times. Rule of thumb if you do a 3 day fast do one every 3 months, 4 day, 4 months etc.
