Multiple reports stating 4 survivors pulled from the water. Amazing how so many tv networks ran with this and they were so terribly wrong.

That CRJ had a radar and had to see that granted at the last moment. RIP They had weather radar. But I believe you are referring to ACAS or TCAS systems. The Blackhawk may have had neither to interact with the airliner or maybe it was malfunctioning or off. NTSB will have a report in a year or so with all the details. Mistakes happen. Just boarded a plane. Safer than my drive this morning.

Doesn't make sense to me that military aircraft are allowed to 'train / recertify' in areas of heavy civilian air traffic.

I have a feeling this tragedy will become a major element for future training. Prayers for the families and those deceased.

He seems like he honestly cares and even takes things personally when bad stuff happens on his watch. Awful accident.

Glide scope for any given runway does not change. The approach corridor shouldve been clear. The altitude for an aircraft throughout the corridor would be known no less than 13 miles out. The ATC's who were in the tower lives are ruined. RIP to those that lost their lives.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3gD_lnBNu0Here is an update from Blanco. Radar shows the HC was almost 100' TOO high based on route restrictions.

That's pretty interesting. I like his channel and Pilot Debrief. Very often these events are a sequence of errors where just one of them would not cause a big problem. But if you put them all together and all the holes line up in the swiss cheese model, it can result in a catastrophe.
