I’m sick of them. I got 9 since noon and they all are different numbers but with a 469 area code. I have an iPhone on AT&T, and I’ve got the setting on to silence calls that aren’t in your address book. Anyone else have this problem lately, and more importantly did you do anything better to get rid of them?

The last time I answered one of them (few days ago) thinking it was someone else it was a roofing company. I told them I wasn’t interested and to take me off their list.

Back when I bought my first domain I didn’t pay for the “privacy” option and boy was that a mistake. I have had my phone number all my adult life and never got hardly any spam calls. After buying the domain GoDaddy gave all my info to ICANN all my information which they posted on their public website and every bot from China to Russia crawled it added me to their list. I’ve been inundated ever since. I’ve gotten to the point I don’t answer anything that isn’t programmed into my phone unless they call twice in a row.

But as of lately they’ve actually been tapering off. Not sure if they’ve started taking my number off because I never answer but I get only a couple a week now. I’ve done nothing different besides just not answer.

Probably just jinxed myself lol.

I've got AT&T and have my phone set to not accept anonymous calls (not in my contact list) and spam doesn't make it ring.

I’ve been answering but not saying anything. I read somewhere if the computer doesn’t hear a voice it just moves on. My spam calls have noticeably dropped since doing that but I occasionally answer one just to f with them.

I've got the same thing where it doesn't ring, but it still shows all the missed calls in the phone log. Between that and the 2 second voicemails I'm tired of it. Fun fact: car play only shows the last 10 calls on your screen in the truck....thanks spam roflmao

I answer and say spam and fraud division Houston, TX, how may I help you. After they think for a couple of seconds nearly all of them hang up! Or just answer and say whataburger, may I take your order!

I’m in sales so I need to answer all calls. I have AT&T and use the spam blocker. It blocks probably 75-100 a week. Still seem to get through but once I flag them they don’t go through again. But the last 2-3 months the calls have increased

Used to get a bunch, started carrying a cheap whistle in my shirt pocket. Get a spam call, wait for them to start their speel, tell them I’m hard of hearing and they need to turn the volume up, then blow the whistle as hard as I can into the speaker of my phone knowing they are wearing a head set. Spam calls have gone way down lately. clap bolt confused2

I decline all calls to unknown numbers. That has made the spam calls lessen.

Any new customer can leave a voice mail. I call them back immediately.

For landlines I bought (I own it) a box (plug and play) that when I get a call the box says "this is *******, to continue this call press '0". Robots dont understand this. Humans press '0' and the call goes through. Refurbished on e-bay for about $35, and no monthly fee. No calls in 14 months! Cell, I turn on 'do not disturb "and put all my contracts in the "allow these numbers". Stops about 95%. I check recent calls every few hours.

It's a roller coaster for me. I get dozens a week sometimes, and then there will be weeks with only a few. I've tried everything above. Not answering, answering ans remaining silent, cussing them, threatening their families, everything. Nothing deters them. It doesn't do any good to block them because they are ghosting legitimate numbers to make their calls, so what you see in the ID is not the actual number they're calling from.

On the occasion where I'm waiting on a call, don't know the number, and answer I get the typical line when they start talking of, "you have unpaid taxes, your vehicle warranty....., or we'll help with you credit card debt," etc, I always ask them "Who am I?". They will almost always hang up.

With all of the technology our cell providers, and government, have, it's frustrating that they can't stop this. Makes me wonder if they even try to stop it?

And seriously, how many people fall for whatever scams these idiots are trying to pull anyway?

I tell them to get a real job, particularly the starter buttons on the Indian subcontinent.

The best thing is to never give your phone number out to anyone other than people you actually know. When I order something online I just transpose a couple of numbers. They don’t need my phone number anyway anymore. I never give it out to large retailers in person either.

Yeah nearly all the retailers sell your information now. I quit giving a # a long time ago. I still get way too many junk calls.
