Pull down, SMP 763 powder. St. Marks SMP 763 is known as Alliant Power Pro 2000 MR on the retail side Alliant website- Power Pro 2000 MR. It is a temp stable, double base, spherical/ball powder perfect for 223/5.56 and 308 Win burn rates. This powder will meter well out of any powder dispenser. This powder is reclaimed powder from previously loaded ammo from a large ammo company. This is their "faster burn" SMP 763 powder. When ordering thousands of pounds, you can cater the burn rate a little slower or faster. This lot of powder is known as the "faster burn" powder, so it will burn slightly faster than the normal Alliant 2000 MR powder. This means the published load data for Alliant 2000 MR would need to be reduced slightly (2%-4%) from the published powder charges (maybe a grain or two) while still getting the faster speeds this powder is known for. This powder is sifted clean and ready to load and packaged in 1 lb and 8-10 lb kegs and 50 lb canisters.

Could this be used for subsonic 300 blackout?

Would this powder be suitable for .270 loads?

This stuff is commercial Power Pro 2000. It’s a faster burn rate than what we would get as PP2000.

From my experience of loading it in several calibers, it’s pretty equivalent to CFE223. I pretty much use the load data from CFE223, starting at the bottom side and working up. It is a pretty good powder in my experience and burns pretty clean. I’ve used 6-8 lbs so far from the last time he got it.

I don’t have any experience with it in 270 but look at load data from PP2000 and CFE223 to help with your question.

No, this powder is too slow burning for 300 blk out subs.



The burn rate of this powder is a little fast for the 270, but, yes, you could use it for it. the burn rate of this SMP 763 is in the CFE 223 and BLC-2 area. So any cartridge that works well with those 2 powders will work well for the 763.
