So for my 60th bday I'm going on a BBQ road trip. We hit the road late this afternoon. Only had a chance to sample the BBQ at one place, Miller's Smokehouse in Belton, Texas.

Brisket - sold, very good.
Pulled Pork - Excellent!!
Ribs - WOW some of the best ribs I have had. They has a mild sweet flavor.
BBQ Sauce - Really disappointing, had an off taste. Neither me or my wife enjoyed the BBQ sauce.
Bean - really good.

Tomorrow we head towards Lockhart.

Millers best item by far, broccoli salad. I get two of the largest containers to go every time I pass thru Belton during business hours.

What a place, thanks for the post on them.

Muellers is a must for a central Texas BBQ road trip.. I’d also recommend Burnt Bean BBQ in Seguin.

I'm sure you're going to Austin, one place I rarely hear anyone talk about is Distant Relatives BBQ. They use West African spices on their BBQ. I've had a lot of great BBQ and they had the best pork ribs I've ever had, the rest of the BBQ was what you'd expect from a top tier craft BBQ place but the pork ribs were exceptional.

If you make to Junction, go to Lum's. Best BBQ I've had.

My wife would disagree, she absolutely love the broccoli salad. I didn't want to take up space with it.

How many places are you planning to try out? I love BBQ but might get tired of it after several days.
