After waiting 7 months for the dock builder they finally got it built. Back in May during the “Big Blow” my old dock went to Davy Jones Locker. Today the crews finished building my new dock. At the suggestion of a friend, I added a trap door hole to fish through. Looks wonderful! I wonder who is going to step in the hole first. I hope they don't get hurt.

what is the point of the hole in the center?? Great for catching crappie. In the summer, they will get into the shade under the dock and usually go to the middle. The trap door lets you drop a bait right into the middle of them.

Looks awesome. Is that a composite decking ? if so , which one did you use ?
Looks nice. Mine is going on 26 years , will probably have to replace some decking this spring. I will probably just go with treated lumber again,

Only if his property insurer addresses this concern. I would have a gate with lock on it, if
there are little people around, just to cover myself. But then again, a schrud lawyer will attack that claim!

There are thousands of docks on lakes without railings. Adults and kids jump off the ramp/walkway and the dock area to swim, plus boats can tie up anywhere you need to. I don't see it as an issue.
