I searched the forum. The most recent discussion regarding fence costs was back in April. Anyone done any fencing recently?

What can I expect per foot in the Junction area? Typical rocky topography. No clearing just new fence,.....sheep/ goat wire.

I just did 550ft of 5 strand myself and paid a friend from church who needed cash to help me. Came out to about 6$ a foot, I bought wire, posts, etc. from TSC. I don’t do much fencing so someone that does it all the time and buys in bulk may be able to do it cheaper.

7.00 a foot for 5 strand, T posts every 8ft and one 2 7/8 pipe every 40ft, corners and bracing all 2 7/8 pipe. Included taking down old fence and hauling off, leveling and brush clearing 8 ft path next to fence line. I just had 1700 ft done.

Thx for the replies.

These are in line with my estimates. Plan to have about a mile built.

I've done that type of work for 29 years (not so much anymore).

That's a very good price and a very well made fence! up

We are a lot lower than that down here, and that's with legitimate businesses, not the illegals.

Labor only, I got a price for $2/ft from a guy running a tractor/auger setup, plus $150/day to get him up to Laredo from the valley with a 2-4 day estimate for around 1800 feet of fence. I believe this was for 4 strands, wood post every 16' and t's in-between, his work looked good.

His number is 956-556-0691 if you wanted to buzz him and see if he'd be willing to go to where you're at.

Most people are paying around $6-7 per foot for a good fence. But down in Laredo, you can get it much cheaper, like $2/ft for labor, if you’re okay with a more basic setup.

I’ve dang done my share but, due to age(82) and arthritis, won’t being doing the stuff I need replaced. That’s why God made grown Grandsons.
