We’ll start doing the Starlink deal tomorrow. That’ll be for the main house. The guest house and the barn workshop/apartment are each set up on antennae reception. The guest house is about 50 yards from where the router will be, and the barn maybe 60 yards - router to tv. Will the Starlink router signal reach those places, or will I need some sort of signal relay?

It isn’t that big a deal, but I thought I’d ask.

Watching this thread. We are moving in our new house in a couple of months and are planning on moving our internet provider to Starlink. Really interested in signal range

You are going to need some WiFi extender or cable.

Those satellites are wild. I saw them one clear night walking back from the stand. I thought I was looking at a UFO. Them things are unbelievable long and they move along pretty darn quick.

My house has the main Starlink equipment. There is a transmitter on the house, and a receiver on the shop, 200' away. They both are 12" little satellite dishes aimed at each other. Parts and labor was $1000-ish.

Our main starlink router is in our living room and the extender is 100 yards away. Signal strength is very good down at the other house. Extender is a Tp-Link 1200 AC

Extender is probably necessary. I know I would.

Yeah, you will need extender. I have starlink at house, but shop, just 50' away has no reception. Will add, house and shop both metal, so wifi has to penetrate 2 metal walls, plus the distance and it will not.

Is the transmitter and the receiver dishes part of star link or did you utilize another manufactures equipment? The reason why I ask is the shop is down by the other house and I could use this type of system.

WiFi extender may be needed, get on Amazon $20-30.00.
If your shop is a metal building you'll have to crack door/window for better reception. Mine works good with no issues.

I get right at 45-50 yards off mine and the receiver is in a metal container. You will probably need an extender , but might not.

Main camp house on my lease has Starlink. My travel trailer is maybe only 30-40 yards from the house. I can get a connection in the camper maybe 75% of the time and do often lose reception. If I leave my camper door open, I get near 100%. I have no antenna or wifi extenders on the camper.

No way to know for sure until you try it. WiFi signals are notoriously finicky. If you don't have a good signal in your shop, like others have mentioned, you'll need an extender. I like the type that mounts under the soffit so it's out of the weather. You may be able to get away with just one on your house, but if the signal is still poor, you may need another on the shop side.

That's out of the scope of Starlink although they do offer mesh network add-ons or used to.

But for these distances you are better off using point to point wireless for getting the signal to the destination. Then setup another wireless router in the out building or shop. But be careful as there is a lot of crap for sale.

I have seen people use this company for industrial applications:

Bought the stuff, and installer coming next week. I’m too cautious to get on the roof again. We’ll see about signal strength at the bunk house, once the system is up and running. I think I don’t want it at the barn workshop, which is where I go for peace and quiet.

I do wonder, though it matters little, if improved signal strength might improve picture quality on my high dollar tv. Probably not.

You will likely need an extender. I installed this unit for a friend who needed wifi at his access gate. This unit would have been overkill for his needs, but he didn't have a clear line-of-sight. This is a very simple install.

Extenders don't have that great of performance. I moved to a Netgear Orbi mesh and works much better in just in wifi only mode (no router). I have main one in office, other in garage, other in shop. Works great.
