You can see him reach for his pistol before they even got there. He could see it coming. Notice that he was seated facing the entrance/street. Whenever I go to a public place, I'm always facing the entrance or where I think danger is most likely to come from. Like clockwork to the point that if my wife arrives to the table before me, she never takes the seat facing the door.

Korea in the 80’s during the student riots. Been doing it ever since. Situational awareness.
