My nephew is wanting to have a bowie knife and maybe an edc out of a part from his old 4x4 Bronco.
Who do I send him to?

Jason Fry has made some nice looking ones. He's on here from time to time.

Curt is over in Longview (not too terribly far from you).. he makes some incredibly beautiful bowies..

If your son could get a leaf spring off that bronco, generally speaking leaf springs are made from extremely high quality steel (5160 or similar) that is very well suited for a "chopper" like a bowie..

Thanks all for the suggestions. I'm just surprised none of the makers on here chimed in to offer their services.

I don't have Instagram so the link to Curt Zimmerman didn't show me anything so I tried looking him up but everything I find is some other state.

I’ve done that before and it is a real PITA. Just getting a piece of steel ground down is very time consuming. I build knives but don’t sell them. I wouldn’t want to do it again when I can start with an appropriately sized billet.

Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.
