Thinking about putting the ranch hand summit on my truck after a couple close calls with deer in the road recently. The ranch hand summit is the guard plus a bumper replacement. How well do these guards actually work against deer? Worth doing? They’re not cheap is why I ask first. Thanks

I have a ranch hand without the bumper replacement. it works just fine. Everything stays intact - pigs and deer don't stand a chance.

I used to run Browns Welding front end replacement bumpers. Many a deer made contact, only had one issue with a plastic radiator being damaged. Browns is out of business now, a Ranch Hand will be fine.

If you're getting a bumper replacement, get a receiver hitch socket in it. 'Never know when you might want to use a road feeder, and, if they can tie the receiver to the frame, a winch.

I use the summit and have on my last 3 trucks.
Can't tell you how many deer i've hit but its been a few. Bumpers hold up fine
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Browns is out of business now, a Ranch Hand will be fine. Browns made a good product and could go by and watch them build them, and see the material they used.

I got a set of running boards from the before they closed.

I have been told by a former ranch hand engineer to not go with the full diamond plate models, but go with their pipe or steel plate options. I had a legend bull nose bumper replacement (with the 4" pipe) on my old dodge and hit a doe going about 70 and it didn't leave a scratch.
