I was in line at a convenience store tonight. A gentleman in front of me was buying some Mad Dog 20/20 and two $10 lottery tickets. He said, “The next damn ticket is the winner!” I said I’d buy the next one and split it with him if he’d split his two with me. “DEAL,” he said. We scratched $30 dollars worth of lottery tickets and didn’t win chit.

You can’t trust anyone anymore.

That’s the first scratch off I’ve bought since they came out when I was in high school. I think I’ll buy another in 30 years.

I call it my $20 day dream.

The only tickets I’ve bought in years are the ones right after my buddy buys to antagonize him😁.

Bought one first day was legal in TX. Bought less than 10 over the years since then.
Don't be pissed at your finanical advisor. You got one over on him 3:1. You spent $10 for a $30 look....

What do you mean? 300,000,000:1 odds seem pretty good. In fact, I think I'll go buy me a few more and pick up a quart of Colt 45 while I'm there.

When the BIG bucks are there, I blow $20. Don’t remember even winning anything but, sooner or later……

Silliness by some here. Name one other way you have a chance, albeit a minuscule chance, to change your life and the life of your family…for a lousy $2?

I can think of a couple $2 chance ways that could change your life and the life of your family...

Everyone hopes the lottery will change their lives, it usually just makes money disappear from your wallet.

Gas stations should have a separate line for scratch off buyers and a line for the rest of us. I probably pay at the pump over 90% of the time and don't go inside.

Every time I have my annual hunt with my close buddies in STX, I buy a $5 scratch off for each guy there. First time, a buddy won $80. He gave me back my initial $30 I put in for all of us, and he spent $50 on more tickets. Ended up winning $250 all combined and it paid for all our food and drinks for the weekend. Since then, we keep the tradition up, but just once a year.

Every now and then I'll buy a couple to throw in the stockings at Christmas for the fam.
