I hope they revamp the basic T3x to be threaded by default, seems like most of their competitors have. Maybe they are and that's why all these are heavily discounted. That 223 Ranahan is tempting, but not a justifiable expense at the moment.

I'm already set or I'd be all over this.
Buy the inexpensive T3. Drop it in a Bell and Carlson Medalist Stock. It has an aluminum bedding block. Then, order bottom metal from High Desert Rifle Works and you'll have a fine hunting rifle that is even more accurate than a stock Tikka. You'll be all in for about $1100.00. The CTR is great, but it's a little on the heavy side compared to what you can put together with a couple of upgrades to the T3.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

That T3x Hunter in 6.5x55 would be another buy if I were rolling in dough. I am selling a Carcano and a cheap violin...

Makes me appreciate the deal I got on my T3X in March of 2020 even more.

Rebarrel and restock a Tikka is a great platform for a semi-custom rifle.
Saves about $700 on the bottom line. They cycle nice, shoot straight, and eject hard.
I'm a trigger snob, and I leave Tikka triggers in place. Turn them down to 1 to 1.5 pounds and enjoy.
I've got one Tikka action, bolt, and trigger that's on its second Bartlein barrel. 3500 rounds fired, and no telling how many dry fires. Still running like a Singer sewing machine.

Not much discount on any lefty's for my son, or any CTR/UPR/Super Varmint that I'd buy...
Nice discount on the roughtech's though

I am in the same boat as you S&W but this Tikka T3x Drover .308 Win 20" looks sooo dang interesting. totally don't need but really want this thing. I thought that was cool as well. It's like a 6.5 pound CTR with iron sights. It's even threaded. Would make a really nice hunting rifle as is.

. Still running like a Singer sewing machine. haha, I get a feeling this reference may be dying in our culture. My parent ran a dry cleaning business when i was growing up and they run like champs. I learned to sew on a full sized commercial one. I am in the same boat as you S&W but this Tikka T3x Drover .308 Win 20" looks sooo dang interesting. totally don't need but really want this thing.
