How did you make the juice divot around the edge? I recently made a cutting board and thought about it but couldn’t come up with a good way to do it.

Two ways that I have figured out to do it, there are probably others but this is what I do...

1. Make a template out of plywood that you double face tape to the middle of the cutting board and then use a router bit with a bearing to follow the template around the board.

2. I recently bought a jig from Rockler that I tried on this one that worked OK but not perfect. https://www.rockler.com/rockler-cutting-board-juice-groove-routing-jig

Both require some technique with a hand held router and sanding in the corners. I tend to burn the wood there from not moving the router at a consistent speed.

I turn my router speed almost all the way down. It takes a little longer but you dont get burn marks at all anymore. Wait until someone wants a 1" juice groove. It is a whole new animal.

Very cool cutting board, 35 pieces makes for some time gluing.
I have never added a juice groove, I have always been afraid that the router would jump and I would end up with a thinner cutting board to get rid of the screw up. I suppose I need to start adding one to keep up with you guys. I am thinking a variable speed router is a good idea too.
