Finally got everything together, figured I would share in case anyone was looking at a similar budget build.

Base is an Axis 2 XP in 300BLK, then I did quite a bit to it. Oryx chassis, C.A.T Dirty Dave suppressor, Timney, Athlon 2-12x42 Helos BTR G2. Going to have to re-zero it, but she was about .7" @ 100 yards on a good day in the factory Tupperware stock.

Hoping for the same, but more repeatable, now that the stock isn't flexing. Might need a new paint job, but I kind of dig it as is. chicken

Good looking rifle. The bolt lift on the Axis action is fairly stout. There is an aftermarket bolt lift kit that helps reduce this. I upgraded two new Savage Axis rifles with this kit and it made a noticeable improvement (reduced lift forced). Check out the attached link.

Yep! This one has the Desh bolt lift kit and the Anarchy Outdoors bolt/knob combo on it. Much improved over factory!

Visual proof that you can polish a turd. Nice work - looks nothing at all like an ugly [censored] off the shelf Axis.

Lol, thank you. The factory stock really isn't great, but it was so accurate that it was hard not to love. Figured I would put some money into it and keep using it as beater. Think I have 1.2k into it outside of the suppressor and it's just a rattle can paint job, so I don't have to treat is as gently as my Weatherby, etc.

If I had to do it again, I'd start with a 110 action or a howa 1500.

These were the 3 groups with 208gr BTHP Hornady Black subs:

I left my allen keys at home, so I couldn't change the zero stops to get it dead on at 100, which meant I just had to hold it somewhere and try to group it. Even with just the general points of aim, I'd say it did well. Took it out to 200 on the steel after getting it figured out and it was very consistent. Put 100 rounds through her and then checked and re-torqued everything once I got to the office. Gave her a good cleaning and will hopefully be able to get some warmer weather next weekend so that I can do some 5 and 10 round groups, then maybe try to get on steel further out.
