My takeaways from the game. 1st was Pope & Youngs comment, Texas did nit have the same energy/intensity that OSU did. 2nd S.A comment about Ewers pocket presence, it was not good. Although OSU QB had a lot more time in the pocket. 3rd. Agree with the Beez; It was obvious that Ewers was not confident and it showed in his performance or lack there of. You play to win and if Ewers is not making it happen, you go to the next man up and that should have been Arch starting the 3rd quarter. At the very least they should have had Arch in there in all short yardage situations, not just that one, especially on that 1st and goal that blew up. Last; if it was not for OSU's penalties, they probably would have had another TD on the scoreboard. Agree with The Horns had better match the Buckeye's energy or this game will be over soon. Ewers doesn’t have pocket awareness, and he self sacks. He'll have a clean pocket yet step up into a defensive lineman for a sack..... Should have been when we started the 2nd half. If somes don’t like what they got out of Ewers, they’d better hope Arch improves. Sark played who he thought was best. That’s what coaches do. ^^^ That's what coach's are suppose to do! So why didn't Sark play Manning on more of the short yardage situations, should have for the odds of getting a first down increase dramatically with Arch in there! I do like the fact that Sark finally benched the fluffy headed stoner looking kicker, who IMO was never that good and sucked the last two games.

Another thing about the goal line is Texas lost there two bigger between the tackles RBs before the season started to injury. They never really found an answer to that. This is where an athletic QB like Sam would have come in handy.....
I'll be glad to see Manning in there next year, but I also know that it won't be pretty. Texas is losing all of the starting O line except for one. Plus Manning is gonna have to make all the first year mistakes, but with athleticism come stress on the opponents D. The off scheduled plays can be had, something Ewers had a real problem with.

Having played in the shadow of Manning all season, I'm not sure Ewers was 100% invested in winning this game.

If somes don’t like what they got out of Ewers, they’d better hope Arch improves. Sark played who he thought was best. That’s what coaches do. This. Sark did what he did to win the game. He left Ewers in because it was his best option.

They already have him as a heisman finalist. The kid is gonna have a hard time living up to the hype.

Yeah, it seems the TX homers have proclaimed Manning as the next Vince Young. All I can say is time will tell. He may be, or he may bomb, but he doesn't have enough consistent playing time to know at this point.

Next season will be interesting. 2 big plays sunk them last night. plus 4th and goal=0 pts. hold heads up , seasons over, could care less about nd v os. HOOKEM

Good game, UT held in better than most felt they would. Ewers played OK but Howard impressed me with some of the tight window throws he made into coverage. He much more than Ewers fit some good throws into coverage, most of Ewers' were fairly open throws. Guess I hadn't ever realized Howard's arm strength before.

Either you think Sark is a great coach and did everything he could to win a natty or you think he’s a cuck with a man crush on ewers. Cant be both. Decide.

I think Arch will have plenty of struggles next year. He has limited experience against good teams. I think he could have been a spark last night. I don’t think ewers played that well. 2 nice wheel routes. Nice pass to Helm.

Ewers getting heat. But on that strip, the Right Tackle didn’t even touch Sawyer.

Like them or not, they were freaks on the college football field. VY threw it good enough and nobody could catch the guy. Manning ain't VY by a long stretch.
