This is my third winter with them and I don't have to worry about draining lines, burst pipes, or waking up in the middle of the night to run the taps a bit anymore. Use them at my house in town and at the farm, then just take them off to clean and store for the other 3 seasons.

Seriously underrated.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing those.

Seen the ads on tv, thinking it was a gimmick. First hand reports are very helpful, thanks.

Freeze Misers are awesome. It’s what the yankees use. Work great.

Yup! I saw them in a YT video, small farm guy was doing chores and kind of mentioned them as he was breaking the rest of his ice in the stock tank so I looked them up. Got them and never looked back, can find them at Home Depot.

It is 24 degrees here and my central system heat pump held my house at my 66 set point all night with the strip heat locked out. Granted, it took two hours to raise it to 68 this morning. Modern heat pumps are sure different!

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

Tara is a mighty good girl!

When he was young, I told Dale Jr. that hunting and racing are a lot alike. Holding that steering wheel and holding that rifle both mean you better be responsible.

Mine would have gotten cold tail and looked all sad because his coffee table duster wouldn't work for a couple of days.

I had 5 painter guys show up at 8am to start powerwashing the house, it was dang cold out there. I grabbed a water hose for them to use and it snapped in two.

not likely going to get cold enough in central TX to worry about pipes but I will shut down and drain our sprinkler system to be on the safe side.

I have people starting fence work this week and another cutting trees.

Thursday shows a 95% chance of freezing rain
Friday shows a 80% chance of snow.

I saw a documentary a few years ago about training sled dogs. It was about -14F as I recall. When they stopped for a break the huskies started rolling in the snow. The docutarian asked if the dogs were alright. The answer was, "Yeah, they're fine. This is just a little too warm for them."

I am south of y'all and do not think this will amount to much. I have insulation and heat tape on the water pipes at the well and plugged them in on Sunday. Drained the travel trailer water lines and unhooked the water connection from it then covered all my outside spigots.

I filled all the bird feeders to the top cause La Jefa told me to.
