I finally broke down and watched it. I was hesitant, as I’ve been a “landman” in Midland for nearly two decades. “Landman” is a general term now. Some run title, some buy leases, some buy minerals/royalties, some are in BD, some, like me, started operating companies, and on and on and on. It was entertaining. The language wasn’t that far off. There’s a lot of cussing in the field where Billy Bob spends most of his time. The alcohol consumption is a little light. Its not true to life on anything technical, but it’s entertaining.

Thanks for the input! And I was right about the alcohol.

I think it’s one of the best show starts I’ve seen in years. I like it. It’s a show not real life. Alcohol consumption on location is pretty much done these days. The oilfield is not as much fun as it used to be!

It's typical made for tv garbage that has no basis of reality.

I've made it through four episodes. There are some pretty funny lines and nice booby scenes. But, you would think with the budget these shows have, they could hire a technical advisor to at least get some of the field operations correct.

Jeez...it's just entertainment, not meant to be anything more. Don't watch if you don't like it.

I liked Jerry's speech, thought it was truthful and done well. I agree, I'm betting they let him say what he wanted to say, and it wasn't scripted.

Do you watch a lot of Soap Operas? I realize he must have connections with Taylor Sheridan, but I'm realizing the character "Dale", played by James Jordan, is who I enjoy watching on the show the most. 'Bit part, but I've known a few "Dales". 'My kind of guy and a hoot to be around. They just @#$%^&* work. It's not complicated. 'Houston boy.

I had to quit watching , she’s such a dbag and the daughter too. Hot yes, but that gets old quick Both roles reflect women who have been rode more often than a rodeo horse. Once you get past that it's not a bad show. Thornton carries it IMO.
