Had to buy a leather needle so I went to Joannes Fabrics. They had 8 foot Christmas Garland (sp) on sale at 80% off. My buddy is a teacher and used his 10% discount to get 90% off. The total cost for 14 8 foot prices was less than 40 bucks. It was easy to thread through the cattle panel. Unless the inner wire rusts out quickly it should last a while. We killed ducks out of it this weekend.[Linked Image]

Haha not bad at all! I did something similar a few years ago. Didn’t want to drop the money on fast grass for a blind I was going to leave out for the season. Ended up going to party city and hobby lobby and getting hula skirts and tiki bar covers. Basically the same material and look as fast grass but was just a few bucks. Worked great.

They are mostly gone now, but end of summer, per-Thanksgiving there were "autumn leaf" colored garlands, and right after Thanksgiving they were on clearance...Hobby Lobby, and Michaels...

Great idea! Just wonder if these will fade or turn brittle from the hot sun if left out all year?

Go to the thrift store and buy a cheap [censored] fake christmas tree. You can take them apart and screw the branches to whatever you want. I used one few years back to dress up a box blind and it worked well.

They looked pretty good the 1st couple years. By the 3rd started to lose the plastic off the wire. I'd say 4 years usefullness give or take.

In my application we will find the birds, move to where they are going and set it up for one maybe two hunts. The rest of the time they will be in the barn. I bought more cattle panels off market place and made some end caps to to help conceal the two ends. I had some old rotted decoy bags and raffia grass. I'm into not spending nowadays. I use something until it is no longer valid and then find another reason to use it [Linked Image]
