I was recently gifted a 20-gage that is chambered for 2.75 inch shells. Is it safe to have the chamber bored out so that I can shoot 3 inch magnums? Thank you for any help and / or opinions.

What sort of shotgun is it? Some doubles can be bored out depending on barrel thickness, not sure about pumps and autos. Briley can do it if you live near Houston. I know for 12 gauge the pressure is same for 2.75 and 3, not sure if that's the case for 20.

An older Citori O/U that was neglected quite badly. So the gun is in need of work.

Make sure the GS actually bores it, not just hones it. Had that done to an old 12ga (for plastic shell) and it didn't work.

I wouldn't mess with it. Last thing you need is a gun blowing up on you.
Just shoot a bismuth load, it Will kill ducks just fine.

I would contact Mike Orlen. He can confirm that it is safe for your barrel and does barrel work at very fair prices. Calling him is best: (413) 256-1630 ![[Linked Image]](http://i.imgur.com/7pPtReO.jpg)

Mike does great work with a fast turnaround time. You should have it back in a week or 2.
