Saw the rifle at the gunshop and would like some info. Nice wood, single trigger, kohl Morgan scope, iron sights with dual leaf rear. $600. Any info would be appreciated.

Depends, If it is a Mannlicher Schoenauer in decent shape it is a steal! Even the Stery's that were made after the M-S was dropped would be worth $600. Need pictures or more detailed description to make accurate assessment.

It is a Mannlicher-Schoenauer. The model number would be on the receiver ring. If the rest of the rifle is in as good shape as the pictures show it would be a great buy. Around here a M-S in 243 with the scope and mount would be twice that price. They are great very well made rifles.

Great buy- know that mags can be exceedingly difficult to find…..

Mannlicher Schoenauer don't have a detachable magazine as such. They can be removed for cleaning and lubing but cannot be loaded like a regular detachable mag. The models that replace the M-S did have detachable mags and can be hard to find and are costly.

It would be nice to see the other side of the rifle as well as the whole gun. It's easily worth the asking price. I'd buy it if I was interested in a .243.

Great buy! Looks like it may have upgraded wood, I have the twin sister to yours, but the wood on mine is rather plain.
