I run a 7”Thunderstorms Beast Ultra suppressor on my 6.5 CM and 300 WSM. I got an Armament suppressor cover for them for Christmas. By adding the suppressor cover will it effect my 100 yard zero or beyond. I’m thinking it won’t to any degree. Hopefully I’ll get to the range next week to test it out.

As always thank you.

Distance is not the issue, but the winds can make it interesting!

I have not noticed any poi shift with mine with the cover on or off.
I will say mirage is horrendous after 2 shots. I just leave the cover on it all the time even though it’s kinda bulky.

No it won’t but why not sight it in with it on and never take it off?

I'll be the outlier...yes...I have seen them effect both group size and zero. Zero does not shift as much as group size...if you are not a precision guy and more of a minute of deer guy...you won't notice a change. But you're adding/moving weight on a barrel, what exactly do you think a tuner does?

I found some high heat silicone covers that I really like. I don’t rapid fire, just wanted something to protect the cans when I lean them up in the blind.

I’ve fired 3-4 shots in a 30-60 second span with no mirage in the thermal and no issues with the cover. Not sure how much they can withstand. But I use some high heat silicone utensils in cast iron with no ill effects.

Can’t speak to zero as I’m a minute of deer kind of guy.

Thanks guys, I'm a precision shooter/hunter type. I don't do any rapid fire shooting. Just range work and hunting. I'll shoot next week sometime to see what the before and after shots look like. Hopefully no change in accuracy. Any change in POI is a simple adjustment. Once on, it will stay on.

Everything mine screws on to is a 15 pound heavy rifle, but Judd is right especially on a lightweight hunting rig or one of these triple the price plastic barrels with the right amount of weight the tune is gonna shift.

My original comment is short of some thoughts on how much of a poi shift you may or may not witness would be very difficult to discern if it’s due to mirage or the extra ounce of material wrapping your can.

I got pretty lucky with mine in most of my load work up still shoots pretty good went from like a 1/4 moa to 3/8 moa in most cases. Almost all of my rifles with their not installed zero shot exactly 2” low on all 5 rifles when the can was installed.

But if Judd don’t shoot a single bullet hole, he’s gonna go nuts..
