Anyone been since the fires? Is it back to “normal “? Love that part of the world but looked bad for a while. Just looking to get away for a few days. Thanks,

Came back about 2 weeks ago, town is in tact. Lots of property burned and flooded in the upper canyon, and basically around the edges on three sides of town. It was real quiet, as most have left , and there was no snow to speak of, still nice to getaway, and the elk hunt was great.

I was curious about it too. We love going there but have stayed away while they recover.

What happened to the people that started the fires?

We went in June after the fire and before the flooding. They started the races back up and we went on Friday. Two days later on Sunday the flooding caused them to stop them. It only got worse after that. We always stay at Cloudcroft and drive to Ruidoso. When we went, we only saw minimal damage from the fire on the road that goes by the casino. Those people have had a hell of a year.
