I will be taking my kids in a couple of their friends skiing on the first. Any suggestions on things to do or where to eat?? I have been before, but when I was younger and don’t recall. Any suggestions or tips are well appreciated.

That was always our favorite ski mountain.

Went with my wife’s entire family several years ago. Had a great time, but didn’t go out to eat or anything like that. We did a snowmobile tour that was fun. And skied, which was also fun. There was a place that had tubing for kids that my nieces and nephew did. Downtown looked to have plenty of places to stop in for a bite or a drink, we just didn’t do that.

If things haven’t changed in the ski runs, if you are looking at the ski runs from the base, the farthest run to your left is a green slope that’s maybe 2 miles long. It’s great for the kids and wives…and me if I wanted to take it easy.

Find the Breckenridge live camera YouTube channel. You can watch yourself online when you are downtown. We check it regularly to see what is happening. You can see people standing on the sidewalk who are obviously watching themselves online. It is live 24 hours a day.

Eric’s down under in downtown. Great pizza and other food. But it is always crowded so expect a wait.

We go every year and will be there over the first again. We eat at a brewery in Frisco and a pizza place in downtown. We usually bring our food to cook at the condo so we don't eat out much.

Breck is going to be packed all the time, so nist be aware of waits for food and lift lines will be long.

Walking the village is super easy, lots to see and eat. Watch the shops, they can be spendy. It isnt what it was 20 years ago….just be aware it will be super crowded.

Breck is my favorite place to board in CO. Best food in breck is at the distillery. Brewery is good too, but the distillery is better. Empire burger has a great burger. Eric's is okay, not as good as it once was but a cool place to hang out with a massive beer selection. Another place I love in the morning is Mimi & Pin churros and donuts. The filled churros are awesome.

People saying lift lines are long....meh. I've only ever had to wait more than 3-5 min at the base lifts. Once you are up the mountain a bit the other lifts aren't nearly as busy. I'm in breck every year and went every spring break for many years. Never had an issue with crazy long lift lines.

Ski’d CO for over 30 years, and I use to live there. Breck is now a never return for me, durning ski season

To each their own, for sure! I would be happy never returning to Vail during ski season. Breck is still plenty tolerable for me and just my favorite place to board. Helps that it's close/easy access from springs.

lol, good point Vail is the OG of “special” in CO, if you like to board, Brighton in Utah is a great small park.

There is no prettier places to stand in crowded lift lines for hours so that you can get to the top and dodge the novice skiers.

You're living in the past, Texas doesn't own those mountains anymore, lol.

We will be going to Yellowstone soon. My daughters idea. At 82 yoa, I doubt that I’ll take a chance of busting something by sliding down a mountain on 2 sticks.

I’ve hunted that stuff quite often. But, like the bard sang “ You gotta know when to hold them and when to fold them. Know when to walk away; Know when to run.”.

Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.

Boy, if I say "sic em", you'd better look for something to bite. Sam Shelley, Rancher Muleshoe Texas 1892-1985 RIP
