NF Ultralites are my go to rings. Seekins makes some that are really good, the machining on them is top notch, every one I have used fit the scope like a tight glove. However, they are heavy, and use two screws per ring to attach to the rail rather than the single like NF, for those reasons they are second place for me.

Same here.

Seekins are good rings. It's easier and faster to remove and install NF Ultralite rings. I just have to come up with a 1/2" wrench. I've used a Crescent wrench on my own stuff, in a jam.

I move scopes around a whole lot, though.

EGW Tactical or NF Ultralite rings are the two I recommend.

I also move scopes around and like JG, and with EGW or NF rings, I can do it in 10 minutes or less.

I actually have a few that I have taken off of my FIL's rifles. I'll part with 'em cheap!

If you want heavy duty and nearly indestructible, take a look at Area 419 rings. I have them on my custom 6.5 CM.

I’ve been using EGW Tactical Rings for my rifles with pic rails. No issues.

I have Burris XTR Signatures (the ones with the inserts) on several rifles which have been perfect and a good value. I have Spuhrs on a couple of my favorite rifles and they are stupid expensive but about as good as they come. I use Larue QD Rings on a bolt rifle I swap a thermal on and off. They hold zero perfect, but I don't think they are made anymore. I just got my first set of Area 419 rings and holy crap those things are nice.

For the 419's, which are you running? How do they compare to the NF, Badger Ordinance, Unity, etc.?

The 419s are pinned and final machined in pairs then serialized. Their fit and finish is top notch. Zero slop. I don’t know the model of these but they’re two piece not one.

I can’t say they’re any better than others because rings like NF have never let me down either. They sure put a smile on my face when installing them though.

I havn't used Badger Ordinance or Unity. I have used one set of Nightforce rings and they worked fine. My impression of the 419 ring is just a non-scientific opinion but they just looked impressive and fit and finish was impeccable. I'm using.

Leupold is not the only maker of that POS mounting system.

In their defense, they DO have some excellent designs.

As far as the OP goes, "best" rings? For what application? I can think of numerous designs that would be my first choice for one rifle but a *never-ever* in another situation.

I could not agree more. I have them on my custom 6.5 CM. What is not to like. They're machined, pinned and serial numbered as a pair. Like you said fit and finished is top notch. They use 3-points of contact, not to mention they're built rock solid!

Those are beautiful for sure!

From the looks of them, they appear to be the 2 piece match rings on their website. I'll have to check them out. As someone that always hand laps everything, these matched sets definitely check a box for me!

This is where unknown munitions and NightForce got it right. This is same failure point in most aluminum bases with two holes. If I could change one thing on ARC M is even though it’s only one hole I still wish it was titanium, with that said it has a 55lb torque spec so there’s that. If I could change one thing on the Unknown it would be one bolt like NF and ARC instead of two in the base
