I can’t live long enough to load and shoot all the projectiles on hand. I think I need to sell or donate some projectiles. When the wooden cradle project is done, and we are real close on that, I’ll set up to load, but will spend time on ‘do I need these bullets’. Probably won’t load more than some Grendel.

The excess bullets will be .224, .277, and maybe some 6.5. And maybe some 308. More data later.

I hear you , I am in the same boat . A while back for about 35 years all I did was shoot . Test firing and load work for over 2000 military rifles and 600 handguns . Plus about 200 Civilian rifles and handguns . Shot matches every week end . Developed about 40 different wildcats and build rifles to fire them , with load work . I was done with the loads about 4 years ago , no more matches , all I do is hunt . So I have about 200 K loaded handloads , about 200 lbs powder , over 50 K of bullets of all calibers and about 40 K primers . I will never even make a dent in what is still sitting around . For example I have over 4600 rounds of just 8x57mm handloads and I have not fired a 8x57mm rifle in a few years .

I am like Judd… rarely hunt coyotes with my 223 anymore but couldn’t pass when I can get Sierra 55gr HPBT game kings for 143.00 per 1000.

I would probably start divesting, unless you have an interested family member that wants it.

All of it is worth more now than what he has in it. As you well know.

Not me. I'd have to be pretty strapped for cash and desperate to divest smile Always buy, never sell. Besides, unless he's an FFL he can't legally sell any of his handloads anyways.

Dude has a decent SHTF stockpile, nothing wrong with that.

My price back then buying in bulk was $20 a brick of primers , about $15 per lb on the powders . I have bullet boxes with $ 12 tags on them . The handloads are for specific rifles . Each of the military rifles would end up with about 40 rounds loaded of the best load so I could shoot it in a match if needed . Nobody to leave it too . I did start leaving cases empty after shooting a few years back , I used to reload everything that was shot before .

Not a sickness…an investment….like guns, gold, and silver.

Fredgus, I’m with you. Thought I had too much stuff till diablodog spoke up. Heck, if he’d been with Custer, Custer woulda had a chance.
