For something outside of the Central Texas scene Rejinos in Olton is probably my favorite in the state. Mad Jacks in Cloudcroft is really good, it's Texas BBQ in NM. Both are outstanding places. A West, TX trip would be awesome as well: Tylers in Amarillo Rejino in Olton Evie Mae's in Wolfforth Jimenez and Friends in Lubbock. Honorable Mention would be Chopped and Sliced for their Chicken Fried Smoked Brisket.

If you go to Hurtado’s, make sure you try one of their tacos.

Sunday morning around 8 AM I am in Seguin, TX eating at Burnt Bean BBQ for their Sunday Brunch.
I know a dude live there and is a professional diner, claims he hasn't cooked for decades and many restaurants keep a open reserved seat for him He owns Sure-Life He was raving about Burnt Bean What does Tony know? He knows about eating out at restaurants, I don't think he has eaten at home in a few decades, Professional diner

Glad he finally found a place to eat at in Saigon.

Lots of good places but if I had my choice of 1 place I had to try it would be Snow’s and I’d love to meet Tootsie the pit master there!

This sounds like an awesome trip. Be sure to post how it goes. Would be something i would do as a tourist visiting your great state combined with some hog hunting and some side fishing down on the gulf.

We did the Top 5 places after the BBQ list came out back in 2012 in a 24 hour period. I didn't touch bbq for a very long time, so be careful of that. Don't go to hard, if you are going to be eating a lot of it in a short period of time. I'd suggest keeping it to just sampling the food rather than eating meals.

I could definitely see that happening. I love good BBQ but it's not something I'd want to eat multiple times a day for a few days straight. Plus that would be a really expensive trip if every meal was BBQ. A food roadtrip could be alot of fun but I'd vary the types of food. BBQ, mexican, burger joint, pizza, etc..

B4 BBQ in Mabank is good. If you’re out that way. Yep and a trailer in Waxahachie I think. Great food.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.
