I’m working on a suppressed Buckmark 22 pistol project. Will just be for plinking, varmint control, fun.
I have pretty much no experience with red dots but would like to use this project to become familiar. Don’t want to spend a great deal of money on a project like this but I don’t mind spending a little more for quality either. I’ve been reading old threads and reviews for the last couple days and think I am interested in the Primary arms classic mini, Burris FastFire 3 and on the top end of budget Holosun 507c (or possibly other Holosun models). Let’s say $150-350 budget.
If any of you have suggestions based on experience or would like to share some details on your 22 pistol with red dot setups I’d appreciate it.
My favorite mounting options from least to most expensive TAC SOL Picatinny rail (no rear sight) TAC SOl Picatinny rail with rear sight Outer impact optic plate (no rear sight) Tandem Marksman Sight system with rear sight
If you need a TAC SOL Picatinny rail with a rear sight, I have an extra one NIB

Unless you have a specific reason or need for a top shelf sight, go with a dependable inexpensive red dot.
A friend of mine talked me into competing in a rimfire steel challenge about fifteen years ago and i was able to finish on the podium a few times with this cheap whatever it is Bushnell red dot.
I still use it today for sh%ts and giggles along with the occasional pest control.
Got a old tasco pro point on my buckmark varmit and works good as a squirrel getter. Just put a Holosun on my 617 with a 2moa dot . Really like the smaller dot for more percise shooting. Also run a few Burris ff3 's on several guns and fixing to buy another. Nary a problem out of the Burris and even messed up one by over tightened screws. They replaced it for free even after i told them it was my fault.
