I see these advertised on the TV all the time, and was pleasantly surprised to find a box of them on the porch as a present. They are packaged perfectly, they were frozen solid, and there was still dry ice in the foam shipping container. Check one for the company,
Decided to have burgers tonight for a first attempt. The news- Good and bad; I thawed them out first and they were really fine ground, so didn't have a toughness I would like on a Blackstone or more open wire grill. I prefer more of a coarse grind in my burger, and suet, whether it be beef or venison. Score it a tie.
The flavor was mild, and not grassy or oat/wheatyy at all, just pleasant beef taste. The wife enjoyed hers a lot. I did hers 5 minutes on a side for med rare, and mine 3 minutes per 3 sides, to get the nice char. Rested about 5 minutes after cooking, while I got the fries out and made a second drink!! Held the juice well, and didn't crumble or fail at all when stacked with all the fixings. That was a plus!
They are packaged in groups of 4. Perfect for two nice dinners for you and the wife, or a couples dinner with company. Cost is higher, but still cheaper than going out to dinner, especially if you like to visit in the kitchen over drinks, or cook with friends. Plus plus
Looking forward to the rest of the box. There are scalloped potatoes, fruit tarts, chicken breast, pork chops, and filets. Probably an 8 out of 10, not disappointed. For less than $100, it's better than a Hickory Farms cheese or salami sampler!!
