Did you try the reset button? I haven't ever heard of that particular problem from the Timer.

Are you determining this because it's not going off in the morning while you're hunting.
If so, could the morning feeding of say 7:00 accidentally be set for PM instead of AM?

Is it all your timer feed time buttons that behave like that or only one? Does it work on all the feed time PM settings and doesn't work on any of the buttons on the AM side? Maybe just the one button is messed up. You might try using the other feed time buttons, If they work then just use them to set your monrning times. Sounds like a new timer might in your future if none of them work. I'd call the mfg. I'm not sure of the company's name that produces The Timer but they make a good product and I bet they would be helpful.

I recently had one quit on me. It's keeping time, but you can't depend on it. They've become the Coke of the industry...and made in China. I hope they keep some kind of quality control.

We had same issue as OP; wasn't throwing in the AM; would throw PM. It was a mystery for a while. We finally figured out that it was the battery/solar combo. By the time we checked the feeder, typically in the afternoon, the solar panel would give enough juice to show a decent battery. In turn, the battery would put out enough electrical splooge (Volts or amps or quazars; whatever; I'm no electrician) to throw in the evenings.

Kept The Timer and replaced the other side of the equation. Voila, it works fine now!

Interesting. I’m not aware I’ve had this problem but may be happening and not aware.

You can’t just put a volt meter on a battery and call it good. You need to also leave it on while you hit test to test under load.
Also, The Timer had a bad batch a few years ago that were undependable. They will take them back.

My set up with The Timer is 5 years old now. The Timer has never kept good time

Interesting. I’ve had about 20 over the years and can only remember adjusting time a couple minutes on a few every blue moon. So infrequently I assume I set it wrong originally.

Is there a better, easier timer out there besides "The Timer"?
If there is, I don't know it. These are not Swiss watches, yea one will give you trouble every now and them, but less than others in my experience. I'm like freerange, I know I have 20+ of them, for Deer and Hog feeders. One will occasionally lose a little time. I just reset and move along.

The Timer is best I've had since they came out. I did run the original Texas Hunters for about 15 years but starting replacing with The Timer...but they can go bad if submerced in water for period of time but I so like hunting the river.
