There were still 1-2 when I was growing up, but they were novelties. I never went to one. My parents did, though.

in high school we would pack everyone into a car - in the trunk, backseat on the floor. etc - only had to pay for one ticket!!

Hard to see the screen with the windows fogged up. That meant a great evening.

Summers in Louisiana. Hot and humid at the drive in, even before you made your hopefully at least partially successful move. No AC. Skeeters. Those smelly Pik skeeter repellants you had to light. I sort of miss it, but miss being a flexible teenager more.

Went to one outside of New Braunfels a few years ago. It was broadcast over the radio, so I brought a portable radio. Lots of folks had dead batteries after the movie was over.

One in Gatesville is still going. Hate that they went to radio. Ok if you bring a portable radio but lots of people can’t figure out how to use the car radio without turning on their lights.

15 kids in a 36 Packard - one price for all. But it was a cold night and the provided heater (extra cost) didn't work well.
