Anyone a fan? I like beef liver with a quick pan sear, slightly pink in the center, along with sauteed onions and cheesy grits.

Haven`t had any since the early 70`s when my mother fixed it. When you`re hungry, you`ll eat what is put in front of you. I managed a meat market for a major supermarket for over 20 years and you would be surprised how much beef liver I sold. Pork liver sold just OK.

Pass most of the time. Beef and deer liver seem very strong and irony to me. I like tender calf liver or yearling elk. Has to be sweet onions and lots of bacon. Why eat liver, when you're back in camp and can have tenderloin???
Beer and whiskey, 'cause you can't drink bacon!!

Haven`t had any since the early 70`s when my mother fixed it. When you`re hungry, you`ll eat what is put in front of you. . Same here. My Mom was from Macon, GA, and her cast iron skillet seared liver and onions was normal fare in our house. I don't think that I have eaten it since about 1970 when I moved out on my own. i don't hate it, but I don't select it either.

Yep, I'd eat that anyday. Me too, was a weekly meal when growing up. My wife refuses to cook it, or eat it. Also needs a pile of mashed potatoes and gravy to go with it.

Never met a liver I didn’t like. Weekly lunch for me while I was working at home. Thin sliced calf liver and sweet onion is the way to go. Grandma would make it for my mom and I all the time

Never met a liver I didn’t like. SAME. ....on second thought, I must've hated my own liver. I tried hard to destroy that one back in the day.

yep, agree on Luby's liver & onions ... I find it occassionally at more of the mom/pop type places and I'll order it. My mother used to cook it frequently when we had fresh liver. She always told us to keep the liver & heart from any deer we killed. She would thin slice, dredge it through seasoned flour and into a cast iron skillet on low/medium temp until a bit of crust formed, then flip it to about the same doneness. Sauteed some onions and then made those into gravy. good stuff

I’ve only eaten chicken liver. Fresh is key. I have never found chicken liver in a store I thought was fresh in all the years we used it for catfish bait.
It's hell eatin em live

Liver is good stuff. I like beef or venison liver with onions and fried chicken livers all day long.
Shoot. Eat. Repeat.

Mom used to fix it at home and I liked it. I agree that Luby's had the best since Mom's.
The one thing I don't do is cook liver and onions inside my house. It seems like it took forever for the smell to clear out!

I love beef and chicken livers. Tried to cook venison liver, it was tough. Maybe I cooked it too long.

Mom would run her liver and onions through the blender then pour it over white rice. Not sure why but it was never tough. Luby's had good liver, Mimi's Cafe had good liver too before the closed down.
Shoot. Eat. Repeat.
