After reading your story, I went hunting last weekend to see if I could be that lucky. I have hunted this place for the past 7 years and have never seen a muley but a couple of hunters have shot one. Oh well, I wasn't as lucky as you were but saw a couple of nice whitetails.

Mighty fine buck right there!

When he was young, I told Dale Jr. that hunting and racing are a lot alike. Holding that steering wheel and holding that rifle both mean you better be responsible.

Congrats! Great job. I hunted that area a few years. Biologist told us just get out in the field. Muleys will get in those drainages and travels miles when the time is right especially if no wheat around. Oh and doesn't this new place still have an AR on MD or has TPWD already done away with that?

Yes, the mule deer have a 20" AR. Mine had a 24-1/2 inch spread. When I went back to town to stay in a hotel in the parking lot there were two mule deer in the back of a pickup displayed so that you
would see them going down the road. I measured, one 15", one 17".
