Was hoping for a sow, but got this big boar. Stinks big time. Might be the biggest boar I’ve collected on this place, and too big for me to singlehandly remove from the trap. Not even gonna try, so I called the neighbor for his help. We’ll see what this hog weighs. The ranch record, so far, is 250#. Hard to tell from the pic how big he is, but he’s a whopper. Not gonna eat this one

Well, I overestimated his weight, like I always do. He weighed just short of 200#.

Well, I overestimated his weight, like I always do. He weighed just short of 200#. a friend culled a couple 200#'ers needed help loading. So went with, he gave me pick wich one wanted. 1 boar 1 sow. Since he one that shot em, told him i 'd take the boar. Had heard whin boars get that size they not good eating. Lot has ta do with prep. Wash knife or use more than one. Just took backstage on that one. nothing wrong with it. Wished would have taken the hind quarters. nice hog. Stay safe.

I think that rascal beat up my trigger mechanism, but I’m glad he’s outahere. Hopefully, the sounder and edible sows will return now. And I’m gonna stay with putting cherry jello powder over the corn.

With the boar around I would think the sows are around close. Not an expert would seem logical.
