Hey everyone, just wanted to introduce myself to the bowhunter group. My name is Blake, and this is my first season out with a bow. I want to give a huge shoutout to Passthru for teaching me the ropes and guiding me through the steps of bowhunting. We met up about a month ago for a weekend hunt, and it was a rollercoaster experience, to say the least! On the first day, I had a shot at a doe but missed—hit the shoulder blade with no penetration. That evening, I shot at a hog and had the same result: shoulder shot with little penetration. After that, Passthru gave me some incredibly helpful tips and tricks. The next morning, I went back out feeling more prepared. At about 20 yards, I finally got a good shot on a doe! It ran over 600 yards, and I had to hire a dog to help track it, but I recovered it in the end. I’m super excited to be part of this community and look forward to learning even more from all of you. He did great. I enjoyed the weekend with Blake in camp. If our hogs ever return in numbers we'll give it another whirl!
