Yes, I broke a nail…sort of. When I recently mangled my left trigger finger, the nail got sliced too. The finger is Ok now, but the nail is growing out split down the middle, with a flap sticking up a bit. I’m gonna hang that flap on something, tear the nail, and have big pain. I showed it to the doctor last week, and he just shrugged. So,,,it’s time for the THF doctors. Whaddayathink I should put on it to stabilize it? A bandaid every day would work, but surely there’s a better way. Would superglue work? What else might work?

Nail Bandage is the name of it. My wife helped me find it, being a knowledgeable fingernail person. I think I can stick it, like tape, on the nail, and get it off as needed. I’d do that with Duct Tape, but fear the part where you remove it without removing the nail I’m trying to protect.

I have a nail like that I've had since a little boy. I was getting out of the car with my parents back in the 70s and still had a finger between the door and door frame when my mother shut the car door on it. It's been cracked ever since. sick

I’d be fine if there wasn’t a flap sticking up, and just waiting to get hung up on something. As for getting a finger caught in the door, our youngest daughter did that. She was in high school and taking a photography course. She saw a horse that had the head over the fence. Seeing a photo op, she stopped, walked around the car (a 2 door Lincoln with super heavy doors). Standing in the ditch, she had to lean one hand on the car to shut the door. She caught her thumb in that door, got the door open and released her finger, passed out and fell in the ditch. The horse woke her up by licking her face.

Update. I got the nail bandages, stuck one on the troublesome fingernail and left it there for a couple of days. When I peeled it off to replace it, that fingernail flap was laying flat and has stayed that way. I have no explanation why, but the result was good.
