My son has a Winchester SXP 20 gauge. This weekend, while ejecting a shell, the pump separated from the action. I'm not much of a gunsmith, but it appears that something broke or fell out and the pump now just slides back and forth not connected to anything.

I'm checking to see if anyone else has encountered anything like this or if the gun is worth putting the money into to repair. It was cheap, on sale at academy a few years ago. I've reached out to a local gunsmith, but haven't heard back yet.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks.

I would disassemble and then examine this schematic and see what is missing: https://www.gunpartscorp.com/gun-manufacturer/winchester/shotguns-win/sxp
