I posted a while back with problems when I first bought it. I gave up on in and left it in the corner. Today I fired it up and put on a rack of baby backs on at 2 pm. It held 220° great for about three hours then shut off with high temp code. After a couple of resets, it’s been running fine. As of now, ribs are only at 170 internal. What gives?

I think they are a great idea, but I prefer an offset stick burner.

Does the temperature get high or is it just shutting off saying it’s high ?

Never showed over 250ish. Then showed HER. The few times I tried to run it at 400° it went her quick. Damn frustrating.

Put another thermometer in there to see what temperature it shows. Google says it will shut off if it gets to 550.
Or flare ups. Is it clean?

Try cooking at 225 or above , mine would go out in the pot where it burns on low temps , but it would be on fire in the flute going back to the hopper . It was a older Traeger , i give it to my daughter

Tech support is your friend. First time I used my Traegar (after seasoning), I got the same Temp code, event though I was only at 300ish. They walked me through a a few steps and it ended up working fine and no other issues with it since.

I would imagine it is bad sensor giving faulty readings to the board.

Traeger thermometers are terrible. Try another thermometer and see what the temp actually is and call Traeger.
