Looking for recommendation for getting two barrels threaded (Blaser 30.06 and Bergara .270) in Houston. From the info I have gathered, I found three main options and would like to know if anybody has experience with them. I have spoken with all three and here are my notes.

- Lohman Gunsmith (Houston) - Most expensive. 2-3 weeks turnaround time. Work on all kinds of gun stuff so would be good for future work.
- Precision Barrel Work (Hampstead) - Fair price. 2-3 DAYs turnaround time. Only work on barrels.
- Brileys (Houston) - Most well known shot. Fair pricing. 6-8 weeks turn around.

I have had several rifles worked on with Precision Barrel Works and recommend them highly. I have a 7m-08 that Pete put together with the parts I supplied and has been one of the most accurate rifles I own.

What does he charge to put one together?

Thank you. After talking with each shop, I definitely felt like Pete was the best. I will most likely take my rifles to him.

On other note, any recommendation son wood stock work?

I forget what he charges it has been several years since he done mine. Give him a call 979-826-2563. If he doesn't answer just leave a message he will call you back. One man shop.

Pete in Hempstead is a great Smith. He’s built me a few rifles.
