Bought a bunch several years ago but never really used them. Just prefer the design on jackhammers/reapers. Doe came in yesterday that I wanted to take so I swapped arrows real fast and let her have it with the rage. Monster entrance and exit hole. Lots of blood even though I hit her just a tad high. Goofy looking head, but this is the 3rd deer I’ve used them on and all 3 have been complete passthru’s and monster holes.

The cast majority of Rage fails I've seen were 3 blade heads. On quartering shots especially. Yes, they'll make a big hole, just be careful of shot angle.

They look like little camera batteries with rear deploy blades. That’s why the reaper is a better design I’m real particular about shot angles. I don’t like quartering away shots

txtrophy, I don't bow hunt but my son started a couple years ago so I am learning more about it by watching/participating with him. Why the dislike for quartering away shots??

Also curious about this. Granted, I use fixed blade, but a slightly quartering away is actually my preferred shot. X3 I don’t care for them for a few reasons. 1st one being that on anything greater than slightly quartering away, it decreases the visible vital area and you need to be cognizant of the exit. A lot of people aim for the entrance and not the exit, and this can result in shots too far back in many cases. Also, if a deer reacts it can even further shrink the vital zone if he starts to spin. There is a misconception that a shot taken from a quartering away angle will drive the bullet or arrow “deeper” into the vitals but this isn’t the case. Flat broadside shot is what I prefer, taking out both lungs and the top of the heart

I've been using the 2 blade rage about a few years after they came out and have found every deer I have hit with them. The worst was a gut shot on a buck in Iowa, backed out and found him the next morning about 80 yards from the stand. I also use NAP Killzone.

Made an evening sit today before I had to run home.
Had a few deer come in, one doe just would not stop blowing and stomping around. No way she caught my wind and the other deer were fine until she came in. This went on for about 40 min.
After the last blow I decided I was done, when she got to about 20 yards I drew back, she caught my motion and when I anchored she was quartering towards me and looking right at me.
It’s not a shot I really should have taken, but I hit her right behind the shoulder blade and the arrow came just forward of the hip and stuck in the ground. She ran about 120 yards and expired in a clump of trees. Blood trail was fairly faint but that was to be expected as the exit was clogged with stomach matter.
Forgot how deadly these heads are, they do seem to penetrate better than the reapers or the jackhammers
