Seem to be wayyyy down compared to other seasons, has anyone else thought the same and why that may be?

Maybe it is because they think they will get bad mouthed for not killing a deer that is what the intellectual's on here think is " Not Mature".

A lot of my buddies on other places have had a disappointing year so far. Seeing less deer and very few mature deer.

Yeah I have never understood why someone thinks they can criticize a deer another hunter has taken. It is your tag, fill it however you wish. Any deer, even a doe, is a trophy in my eyes. Game animals are a precious resource and they should be highly valued for what nature has allowed them to be and they should not be judged by some arbitrary standard held by someone you have never met. Hunt. Be happy. Eat venison. "Merica!

Agree, and also no animus towards those hunting private property, LF or HF vs public lands, nor legal manner hunting, over feeder, corned roads, etc. Does that sound familiar? Loved the Chacalacas, btw...

We killed these 4 over the past 8 days in the TX Panhandle, ranging from 130-163".

Two for the meat hunters!! A couple of Saturday's back. Doe at 7 am and the spike at 8 am. There are three nice bucks, an 8,9 and 11 point running around on our property, but until one of them shows up in the day light, I will just trim around the edges a little bit.

The flood gates are starting to open up; nothing like a little less moon, colder temps and love in the air to get those Boyz moving...Keep those pics coming...

Shot this old guy on a miserable wet day last Saturday. I normally take a pic in the field but just was not a priority that day. Wet head to toe and had to load 140 lbs in truck by myself. I called it a sausage buck. My brother who is lease manager said it is a management buck. It is both.
