After just having so-so numbers for the last few years, we have the best crop in a long time. Callahan/Eastland county line area. What are the numbers like elsewhere.?

North Kimble County is crawling with 'em. TPWD is gonna band some on my place. I wish they'd take them somewhere else.

I went to war with raccoons and after trapping about 600 of them over the last few years I went from a rare turkey sighting on the ranch to them being here everyday. This was a great year for them with all the rain producing plenty of food.

up

We'd only see them briefly in the fall here at my place north of Ray Roberts,
- but now into my 2nd year of Wildlife Exemption running feeders year round (with chicken-scratch mixed in the corn)
-and keeping some kind of greens/legumes/oat plots going,
we are now seeing them year round with broods getting bigger! smile

At my place in West Taylor county, during the fall I never see any Turkeys, but the do show up in the spring. Not big numbers, but enough to get a gobbler.
