Apologies for asking what should be a simple question but I'm having no luck finding this info and I want to make sure that I don't run afoul of the rules. What are the antler restrictions for hunting white tail deer in Edwards county?

I believe that I'm fine shooting any white tail deer that has no antlers, but what about those with antlers? The only rule I can find is that a legal buck needs to either have (at least) one unbranched antler OR an inside spread of 13 inches (which should be the width of it's ears when it is alerted). But my confusion is that I'm also seeing places that say these antler restrictions only apply to certain counties, which do not include Edwards.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, according to the current TPWD ap, Edwards is not an antler restriction county. 5 deer no more than two buck/antlered deer. No spread limits.

So does that mean any buck is OK to harvest in Edwards county regardless of antler size?

You may know this, but besides the State, you may be restricted by the landowner or someone in charge of the lease(if either of those apply to you.)

Well, all i can say is, here in Washington County, brenham tx area, the antler restrictions have made
a world of difference in the last 10+ years or so! Im seeing bucks now we never have seen. But we live
in a area where hunting is not that popular, hear shots from time to time, mostly pigs, and coyotes roam
the ranch here! Last good buck we took was a 5yr old, and 145lbs, 9point with a 20" inside spread, 4
years ago. No spikes in our area, lots of cull bucks that need to go!....

Our main interests to take care of the pigs that tear up my back pasture!
