Howdy,

I am brand new to traditional muzzleloading, and I just bought a Pedersoli Kentucky Rifle Percussion in .50 caliber.

I'm slightly lost on what all I need to get started. What are the necessities needed to begin shooting? I'll put a link below that shows the specs for this rifle.

First, you should join The Muzzleloading Forum. They only talk traditional muzzleloading there, no fancy-dancy inlines. They know everything there is to know about traditional blackpowder.

I have the exact same rifle in 45 caliber. The things you will need to start shooting right away are:

.490 roundballs
3F bllackpowder
patches/patch knife
No. 11 percussion caps/capper
powder measure-never, ever load blackpowder directly from the container into the barrel. Never, ever.
some type of lube for the patches
cleaning kit
nipple wrench

Those are the bare essentials to get you started on the flat range. If you are going to be hunting you will be more items but these will get you started.

Bear in mind this is what I would need. Others will chime in with their choices.

Looked @ web you posted. can't believe the price. Payed roughly $150.00
for NY. 45 Kentucky back in 70's. Used 440 round ball with .10 patch 72 gr FFF.

GOEX powder. Now it got Hazzard tax very pricy can't find in stores.
Twas thinking FFFF tis for flash pan, FFF twas for pistal/small cal rifle
32, 38, cal. Squirrel gun & up ta .45 cal. FF twas for 50 cal. & up. &
the F twas for canon type .

For deer hunting. Preference me .45 Kentucky .
Powder to hard ta find. Have couple 50. In-line
& a .45 in-line. Preference the .45's.
Each has own Preference. Taken the bigger bodied
🦌 deer here in MN with .45 .
As pappy says: keep your head held high & your powder dry.

My advice is to you is, if you can find #11 percussion caps buy them. period, I don't care if you are shopping for socks, if the store has them; buy them. They have been hard to find for a couple of years now, I lucked out and found some at a Atwoods in Waco offseason 2 years ago and bought all 3 tins.
