Earlier in the season I was feeling very grim about how my season would go north of Princeton. But, since the time change and photoperiods shift, my season has done a complete 180 degree turn. I have had more deer at and around my property more than I have ever seen here. Even with the ridiculous amount of development happening in Princeton, these deer look very unfazed and calm and seem to be going nowhere, at least for now. Want to get other peoples thoughts about how their season is going in Collin to see if I am the only one feeling this way.

Don’t see the true giants like I used to see 5-6 years ago thats for sure. I do have alot of does and fawns the last few years so the does are getting bread. Have only seen two bucks this year. Scrawny 6 and a pretty solid 10 that is probably in the 130’s. I feel I’m probably just a few years away from having no deer and development on my door step. It was fun while it lasted but the best years in Collin are definitely behind us.

My bucks are getting smaller every year. Used to have some decent deer. Largest buck I have on camera this year is a 4 point. Don’t think my kids or grand kids will be able to hunt in Collin County or even see deer.

I've sat out multiple times this season but haven't seen anything I wanted to shoot. Seeing a few nice ones on camera at night but no giants.

I think the cold front tonight and then the mega cold front next week will push them forward in their timing and get them riled up. They are by no means ready to breed as well. I had a nice 8 pt at my feeder with does all around and he had not a care in the world. It WILL happen soon though.

The deer could care less about all the commotion, I see solid deer all the time and they seldom even look up. I can tell you where some really big ones are right now We’re cutting in the new 380 Bypass from Prosper up towards Melissa and I see them every couple days in one area during the day within a quarter mile of 75.

How big a property are y’all hunting? Development around you is almost like a HF if you have enough land. The deer acclimate to development, I drove from the country to the city last Friday morning, first deer I saw was down town new braunfels.

I’m on about 40 acres with only 3-4 acres being prime huntable timber. the rest of the property is a hay field. That’s why i’m surprised with how much i’m seeing taking into account how small my area to hunt is. I’m just north of the Sicily Laguna master planned community they are putting in.

Hate to break it to ya but one of your target bucks may never show back up on camera again... I'm in the new neighborhood just north of the Sicily Laguna and someone hit a pretty nice buck last week just outside the neighborhood.

What a shame. Do you by any chance have a picture of it? pm me

When I pass by it again I'll see if I can get a picture. Not sure if someone has already taken the head off him.
