Learned something today. I had no idea that mules and horses didn’t use the same saddle. Had horses but never been around mules. Interesting difference in the 2.

Mule saddles are placed forward on a mule's back, while horse saddles are placed back on a horse's back. This is because mules have V-shaped shoulders, while horses have A-shaped shoulders.
