How good are those $100 ATV winches at harbor Freight and other place?

Will they pull a non working zero turn mower up into a trailer? I have a trailer with a gate, so the non working zer turn does not have to be lifted up off the ground, merely has to pe pulled, rolling onto the trailer.

Anyone?

God Bless, Dale

I've been using a cheap 3500# winch on my Mule for 4 years without an issue other than having to replace the rope once. I used it to pull my 1700# Mule onto a trailer lastnight after it failed to start so I imagine it would pull a zero turn. Mine is a Zeak but I don't think it is branded as that anymore, it was about $125 on amazon.

Would work just fine for that - prolly more than enough. I've used a $20 cable-comealong to pull riders up onto trailers like that countless times...

If you use a pulley you can double the pull strength.

Yep and remember most winch capacity is at one wrap and declines every next wrap

Winch strength declines as the spool gets larger with more wraps. Effectively making a larger gear to wrap around.

If it makes sense, get some ramps and power it up into the trailer.

Got it.

I was reading that wrong. That is correct.

I thought the discussion was about a traveler pulley and then adding more decreased the strength of the line pull. Which is inaccurate.
